My maternal grandfather was a violinist. He was not a professional, but he had a very good level. He played in a classical music orchestra and in another tango orchestra. When he was a student, he played in film-concerts to accompany silent films! I remember that he had a painting in his living room that mixed scores with flowers and butterflies.
